Book News

Going through my email this morning, I found out some things I'd like to share with you. First off, two well-known YA authors will soon be taking their popular series to the graphic novel format. Meg Cabot (Princess Diaries, Avalon High) and Brian Jacques (Redwall) are working with publishers to make graphic novel adaptations of these bestselling books. Look for them in early 2007 (maybe even earlier for Redwall), I believe. Also, check here for the master list for the 2006 Eisner nominations. The Eisner awards are named of course, after Will Eisner and given out for achievement in comic books. Some of titles on this list that we own are:
The Clouds Above, by Jordan Crane
Epileptic, by David B.
Buddha, by Osamu Tezuka
The Rabbi's Cat, by Joann Sfar
Age of Bronze, by Eric Shanower
Bone, by Jeff Smith
Runaways, by Brian K. Vaughan

We are adding new graphic novels and manga all the time!Lastly, on the first of every month we'll be telling you about all the new materials we have in the YA section, with a few other things thrown in. If you can't wait that long, you can always go here to find out what has come into our library in the past week or month. You can limit to find out what new movies, books, cds and more! I use it all the time and think its great for just browsing our really, really new stuff. Try it yourself!

I don't think that this is such a good idea.. if things are in graphic novel format i feel like its not going to do the story any justice..if you definitely want to know the story, you're better off reading the book, therefore you can get every delicious detail ;P
